In May 1883, the Journal reported, “The new house of Mr. Geo. Pottsgrove, on Presqueisle street, is being pushed forward to completion as fast as possible. Our friend George will have a handsome and comfortable home when finished, just what he deserves.” In July, in the paper’s signature, unabashed bias, the Journal sang the praises of George Pottsgrove once again, writing, “Our esteemed friend, Mr. Geo. Pottsgrove, is now happy, and why shouldn’t he be? His new home on Presqueisle Street was finished last week and on Tuesday the family occupied the same. He has one of the best locations in town, and having had the house built according to his own and family’s desires, the home is one of genuine comfort and convenience.”
